Hello Again

Well it's taken quite a while but we're back up and running on the Wax Poetic blog. Thanks for your patience as we try and get your readership back.

First off I want to let you know that since last report Pam Bentley has joined me as co host of Wax Poetic now that SR and Dianne have retired from the show. We worked together for about 10 years and now the show shifts into a new era. I also wanted to thank Mark Steinberg for jumping on board as a co host for a few months last year. However Mark's acting career has skyrocketed and unfortunately he doesn't have enough time to dedicate to the show.

I want to also thank all the cool guests we've had over the past year including Christine Lowther, Wilhelmina Salmi, George Bowering, Sonja Littlejohn, Jillian Christmas, and Vancouver's latest poet laureate, Evelyn Lau.

We'll work to keep you up to date on poetry events happening here in Vancouver and around the Lower Mainland.

Along those lines I really want to let you know about a couple of cool events...The Pandora's Collective 10th anniversary show at the Prophouse Cafe. It happens on Thursday February 16th with performances by Jess Hill, CR Avery and Geoff Berner plus a whole slew of invited guests sharing stories and other words. 7pm. $10. The Prophouse is located on Venables Street across the road from The Uprising Breads bakery.

Also, this weekend, performance poet extraordinairre, Derrick Brown is performing at the Chutzpah Festival. Spoken word and dance mash it up. You can find out more behind this link.
Just google chutzpah festival to find out more.

As always go to http://www.vancouverpoetryhouse.com/ for more event info on select shows happening in the area.
